Zoomify Image Support added in ML v7.0.2.5

Starting in version 7.0.2.5 of AspDotNetStorefront ML, Zoomify Zoomable images are supported using the Zoomifier EZ and Zoomifier for Flash products available from http://www.zoomify.com. The storefront ships with the Zoomify Viewer Flash movie already installed in the images folder.

Gateway AutoBill Recurring Payments Added

We now support direct gateway recurring autobill processing, for Authorize.net and PayPal Payflow Pro (used to be Verisign Payflow PRO). This feature is used in combination with recurring or auto-ship products or subscription sites to perform repeated billing at specified intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, annually, etc). This feature expands on our prior support for recurring products, and elimintes the need to store credit cards on your storefront in order to do recurring products. With the new system, you do not have to store any credit card information, the gateways store them for you, and send billing status reports every day to the storefront, which then turns the approvals into new orders by customer.

This feature works nicely in combination with our subscription topic content protection, to enable subscription web sites providing data to customers during their subscription. It also works with recurring auto-bill types of sites, such as wine of the month club, etc. Any recurring product can be used with the new AutoBill gateway feature.

PABP Certification Required Now To Get Accounts with Some Payment Gateways!

We are starting to hear directly from some Payment Gateways that VISA PABP Certification is now required even to get an account to use their gateway. AspDotNetStorefront is fully CISP/PCI PABP certified!
 
We expect this trend of increased focus and importance on CISP/PCI and PABP to continue. We expect additional payment gateways to start refusing to even give accounts to merchants running "carts" which do not meet the security standards of PABP.  EFSNet for example will not even give a merchant account out unless the merchant is running a PABP certified shopping cart.
 
We of course are fully VISA PABP Certified, and among the very FEW handful of carts that are certified with PABP (not just PCI)....so this is again where we demonstrate leadership in this market.
 
We will also continue to stay in a leadership position for our customers in areas like this.
 
For potentical customers still considering on deciding between AspDotNetStorefront vs. another product, please be aware of this issue.

Dan Van Kuren, V.P. of Customer Services and Support, AspDotNetStorefront

Prior to his current position, Mr. Van Kuren was responsible for the overall IT/IS operations of 100 year old medical device manufacturer Gebauer Company, where he deployed strategic solutions while operating under the regulatory constraints of the Food and Drug Administration and International Standards Organization. He was also responsible for planning and implementation of a fully modernized IT infrastructure during Gebauer’s move to a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility completed in 2004. Using a high level of automation and proactive management techniques, he built an IT system that averaged 90% less downtime than the national average. Additional responsibilities included directing the company’s ecommerce efforts, where he grew sales at nearly 50% during the first year. Other related activities worked to increase web traffic more than 250%, helping to drive sales through the traditional distribution channel common to the industry.


Ezra Weinstein, CEO of Premier POS

Premier POS Inc. is a Texas based corporation that was founded in 1998. Mr Weinstein graduated Drexel University with a B.S. in Systems Analysis and design. Upon graduation Ezra proceeded to work for IBM in Boca Raton, FL as part of the Financial Systems Group as a Programmer and Systems Analyst.

Upon his departure from IBM, Ezra worked for a couple of software consulting companies and soon after founded his own company. At the time that it was founded Premier POS was specializing with point of sale solutions for the hard goods and soft goods market. In the last few years, Premier POS has added a hospitality solution for the restaurant industry. In November of 2006 Premier POS,Inc. merged with Community Seasons a company based out of Minneapolis, MN. Community Seasons specialized in providing online solutions for Event Registration, Facility Scheduling, Membership Management and Donation Management. The merger has enabled Premier POS to venture into the Not for Profit and Municipality industries. Premier POS has hundreds of clients all over the country and some internationally. Its clients include the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts.

Ezra currently resides in East Texas, in the town of Jefferson which is where Premier POS, Inc. is headquartered. Ezra has a wife and three children ages 13, 11 and 4.

Our new Web Services Automation Interface (WSI) is now released in BETA to ML C# 7.0.0.7+ customers with SLA and update contracts.

Allows fully automated import, export, data updates and synchronization with external systems.

Event Notification callbacks are even supported to an external Web Service which you register, which can be called on various storefront events (e.g. new order created, customer created, etc).
 
Easily update AspDotNetStorefront Order records with shipping information, tracking information. Pull orders from AspDotNetStorefront into legacy systems, etc. Supports fully secure authenticated connection.

This can greatly facilitate import/export of data from the storefront to external accounting, ERP, POS, EDI or other legacy systems.

Our QuickBooks T-HUB interface is also being rewritten to run over this new WSI interface.

PABP (CISP/PCI) Auditor Approved Code
We have submitted final auditor approved code for the Visal/MasterCard Payment Applications Best Practices PAPB certification standards, which is part of the overall CISP/PCI compliance program. PABP goes even a step further where we have rigorously tested our application against defined software best practices by VISA/MasterCard, and are using an outside auditor to perform this certification.
 
This 7.0 release represents months of work and we recommend trat all customers update to this latest 7.0 release, as this offers the state of the art best practices in protection for store owners, and we are proud to offer this release to our customers.
 
Final approval from VISA/MC can take 4-6 weeks after submission by our auditor.

Our auditor is also now working with us to provide a program for merchants to conduct PCI compliance on their stores, using our 7.0 PABP version.

VISA/MasterCard PABP Certification Approval Release (Part of CISP/PCI Compliance)

We're are preparing for submission for final VISA/MasterCard PABP software certification. This has been a 4 month effort and hundreds of development hours to conclude! This is part of the overall VISA/MasterCard CISP/PCI Compliance program, but goes even further where we are independently testing our software with an approved auditor firm to evaluate software features based on best practices as set forth by VISA/MasterCard.

RSS Feeds Added To ML Version
In the ML version, you will now be able to create arbitrary RSS products, news, or other content feeds from your storefront. The RSS feeds will be implemented via XmlPackage, and you can easily add new feeds to your storefront. This allows content syndication to other sites. In addition, we will be adding a RSS Feed consumer page and XmlPackage on our admin sites, so we can push news, alerts or other content out directly to all customer admin sites. The RSS Feeds will be available starting with v6.2.2

Phone Order (Offline Order) Entry Page Module Now Available
The new "phone order entry page" allows admin users to easily enter orders over the phone on behalf of customers. It will be included in the next ML version builds... as we are doing final testing on it now. Expect it in about 1-2 weeks.

This new module leverages all existing product page display formats, XmlPackages, inventory protection, uses the same checkout sequence, supports all payment methods, all shipping calculation types (e.g. rtshipping, by weight, by total, etc), enables adding of new customer billing & shipping address records quickly, supports quick searching of customers and products, supports download or physical ship products, supports all payment gateways, supports coupons, gift cards, quantity discounts, customer level discounts, affiliate tracking, etc...

Customers are automatically e-mailed receipts as if they entered the order themselves, etc...

Very cool we think (and yes, was long overdue).

Up next is our one page checkout, which you could then marry with the phone order entry page if you wanted to.

Q. What is Google Checkout?

A: Google Checkout (http://checkout.google.com) is a service for Internet shoppers which allows them to better-control their Internet shopping experience. Specifically, Google Checkout gives your customers a single account where they can store their common billing and shipping addresses and credit card information, then make purchases at participating websites using that information.

 

Q. What are the advantages of Google Checkout for the Internet Shopper?

A:  - They create one account and password at Google Checkout, rather than individual accounts and passwords at each website they shop at.

 - Credit card and e-mail information is not shared with the merchant, allowing them to better-control their credit card numbers and turn-off unwanted emails from merchants.

 - It centralizes Internet purchases, creating a single purchase-history list.

 

Q. What is the impact to the merchant?

A: Google Checkout is not a payment system. It doesn't compare with PayPal or Authorize.Net, for example. Instead, it totally replaces your six-step checkout procedure. Google Checkout is initiated from your shopping cart page, and controls the entire checkout procedure; receiving payment information, authorizing the credit card, collecting a shipping address, and finalizing the transaction.

 

Q. Can customers really remain anonymous?

A: Customers using Google Checkout don't necessarily need to log-in to your website to make a purchase. They do need to provide a shipping address when they use Google Checkout, but that's the only personally-identifiable information you'll receive. Google Checkout will even provide the customer with a unique email address for the order, upon request, and forward emails from you on the customers' behalf. They can opt-out of your emails at any time.

 

Q. How do I enable my storefront to offer Google Checkout as a checkout option?

A: Google Checkout is built-in to AspDotNetStorefront v6.1.4 and beyond. It's configured using a dozen AppConfig variables, allowing you to set-up your storefront to accept orders from Google Checkout. It's very simple to configure.  Once you open a Google Checkout account, you can configure your storefront in under ten minutes.

 

Q. What information do I need from Google?

A: You'll need to open a Google Checkout account here: http://checkout.google.com/sell. Actually, it's useful to open up two accounts; one account for accepting orders from customers, and another account to place "test" orders from, to ensure everything is working right. Please note that Google Checkout doesn't allow a merchant to buy from his own store; that's why a second account is recommended.

 

Q. Is Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode supported?

A: Since Google Checkout handles all of the payment details, these security features (if installed on your website) are not used.

 

Q. How do I know if I receive a new order from Google Checkout?

A: When a new order is received, Google Checkout will send you (the merchant) an email, and the order will appear on your Google Checkout orders page. The order is also assigned an Order Number within AspDotNetStorefront, and will appear along with orders placed at your website on the Admin>Orders page.

 

Q. How do I process an order placed with Google Checkout?

A: Your order-fulfillment process-flow doesn't change. Orders placed with Google Checkout appear on your Admin>Orders page. From there, you can "Capture" the purchase, and send the customer a Tracking Number. You can also Void and order, or Refund the customer.

 

Q. My product pricing varies, based on the assigned Customer Level of my customers. Will this work with Google Checkout?

A: Yes. The operation of Customer Levels remains unchanged. Obviously, your customer needs to be signed-in to your website to know his customer level, and to see his products and pricing. Since Google Checkout only affects the way a customer checks out, the operation of you storefront prior to checkout remains unchanged.

 

Q. I have customers that are tax-exempt. Will Google Checkout collect sales tax on their order?

A: Any tax-exempt status that you've assigned to your customers will be respected by Google Checkout.

 

Q. What about "Buy Now" buttons? Does Google Checkout have them?

A: Google Checkout has them, but they are not supported by AspDotNetStorefront. Why not? Because "Buy Now" buttons do not support the addition of sales tax or shipping costs, and don't have SKU's. We aren't preventing you from using a "Buy Now" button, but a customer's order placed via a "Buy Now" button will not appear on the Admin>Orders page.

 

Q. I use "Real-Time Shipping" (or Fixed-rate shipping, Free shipping, etc.) to calculate shipping costs for an order. Will this work with Google Checkout?

 

All of the nine shipping calculation methods available with AspDotNetStorefront are supported by Google Checkout. Any shipping costs that you've configured under Admin>Shipping>Rates Table will be calculated correctly during Google Checkout.

 

Q. What about coupons and gift cards that I defined in AspDotNetStorefront?

A: AspDotNetStorefront Coupons and Gift Cards are fully accepted at Google Checkout. Coupons are verified against the contents of the cart during checkout, to ensure that they are valid. Gift Cards are checked to ensure that they are valid, and their monetary balance can be applied against the order total within Google Checkout. Customer may use only one coupon or gift card at a time, to maintain compatibility with AspDotNetStorefront.

 

Q. What about quantity discounts? Does Google Checkout know about these?

A: Yes, Google Checkout will respect any quantity discount you've offered your customers.

 

Q. I collect sales tax based on a customer's ZIP code. How will I collect the proper tax, if I'm not handling the checkout process?

A: Google Checkout fully supports the sales tax tables you've defined in AspDotNetStorefront, including tax rates defined by Country, State, or ZIP code. Please note that Google Checkout is a US-only service at this time, so taxes based on Country aren't really needed at this time.

 

Q. My state requires that I collect sales tax on the cost of shipping, too. Will Google Checkout know this?

A: Yes, simply select "Yes" in the "Tax Shipping" column on Taxes>Edit States on the Admin Site, and AspDotNetStorefront will pass this information along to Google Checkout.

 

Q. I sell some items that do not get charged sales tax. Will Google Checkout know this?

A: Any items where the IsTaxable flag is false will not be charged sales tax by Google Checkout.

 

Q. How much does Google Checkout cost?

A: Read the details at the Google Checkout website. In a nutshell, Google offers you a credit if you are an AdWords customer. For every $1 you spend with AdWords, you'll receive $10 in free Google Checkout processing. Beyond that, costs are 2% plus 20-cents per transaction. There are no monthly charges, minimums, or service fees.

 

Q. What about kits, packs, downloadable items, and subscriptions?

A: Kits, Packs, Download-only Items, and Subscription Items are all supported by Google Checkout.

 

Q. My site has a Gift Registry. Can I specify a different shipping address for these items in Google Checkout? or I allow my customers to specify multiple shipping addresses for the items in their shopping cart. Will Google Checkout support multiple shipping addresses within the same order?

A: No. Although Google Checkout stores several shipping addresses for a customer, only one may be used to complete the Google Checkout process.

 

Q. I ship my products worldwide. Can all of my customers use Google Checkout?

A: Google Checkout is currently available for US customers only. Customers with non-US shipping addresses will be denied a Google Checkout account, and will be re-directed back to your website to checkout using the AspDotNetStorefront checkout system.

 

Q. My AspDotNetStorefront shopping cart displays the image of each item in the cart. Is that available with Google Checkout?

A: No, item images are not supported.

 

Q. I want my company logo to appear on the Google Checkout screen, instead of their Google Checkout logo. How do I do this?

A: At this time, co-branding of the Google Checkout screen is not generally available.

Medium Trust Now Supported For Hosted Servers
We will be posting a 6.2 ML C# asp.net "medium trust" compatible release candidate build tomorrow.
No major feature changes, except for medium trust compatibility. This required a lot of changes by vendors whose dll's we are using also to make this work, that was the reason for the delay.
 
We will post the release candidate tomorrow for existing ML C# customers as a separate download in the support downloads area.

RSS News Feed Display XmlPackage Now Available
Provides a means to display RSS NewsFeeds (from any valid RSS source) on your site. You can embed this XmlPackage in your product descriptions, or in your skins, as needed. For example, we are including a google RSS News Feed just below this text. You can also change the news keywords. Supports Google news feeds and MoveOverPackage feeds now. Could be pretty easily adapated to other feed providers.

DotNetNuke Integration
In partnership with the core DotNetNuke technology developers, we have begun technology integration with DotNetNuke, to provide the recommended DotNetNuke e-commerce storefront module. The resulting product will be jointly sold by both DotNetNuke and AspDotNetStorefront. Technology/Archecture discussions are now underway.
 
The result is anticipated to be a fully feature rich, PABP compliant, cost effective, world-class, fully integrated e-commerce storefront module for DNN.
 
This project will leverage the strengths of both the best features of the DotNetNuke extensible framework platform with the market leading asp.net e-commerce capabilites of AspDotNetStorefront.
 
Further details to be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

MaxMind Fraud Screening Integrated

Starting in v 6.1.2.0, we have now integrated MaxMind Fraud Screening services in the ML platform. This fraud screening can be valuable for helping to prevent fraudulent credit card orders. Separate service agreement required from MaxMind. For more details, contact maxmind.com. We are now using this on our own site of course, and it has already prevented about 7 fraud orders in only one week. We are very happy with this integration so far.

v6.1.1 Release Status & News
v6.1.1 BUILD status

Pending final build release testing & validation, ML C# 6.1.1 will be posted for download tomorrow. Release notes will be in the build. We anticipate posting at about noon PST. The v6.1.1 build addresses almost every single 6.1 issues that have been reported. E-Mail gift cards are also supported. Physical & Certificate gift cards will follow in v6.2. PRO C# 6.1.1 to follow within a day, and VB.NET versions to follow within a week. We have also moved our PayPal Pro gateway class to use their API SIGNATURE method, which is easier for clients to setup.

MEDIUM TRUST status

v6.2 will also work in MEDIUM TRUST. We think we have identified all the changes that need to be made. Some 3rd party vendors (e.g. Cardinal Commerce) may have to update their controls to also work in medium trust, but we have contacted every one, and they are receptive to doing that.

1000+ FORUM USERS

We've just now passed our 1000th registered forum users. Nice work all, and many great suggestions, posts, and feedback coming in!

Announcing Greatly Improved QuickBooks Integration
We are pleased to announce our new improved windows based QuickBooks export utility, which fully exports AspDotNetStorefront orders, customers, products, taxes, shipping, etc into QuickBooks (nearly all versions!)

The new importer utility is a windows client program produced in technology partnership with Atandra Systems, using their T-HUB windows client. The T-HUB client will communicate to the storefront admin site using a predefined HTTPS (secure) interface to obtain and download order, product, tax, and shipping information.

The new exporter fully exports customers, products, orders, shipping, taxes, etc, and allows processing of orders received via AspDotNetStorefront to be processed via the QuickBooks Merchant Accounts/Merchant Services Gateway!

The new QB client also supports integrated upload/download to UPS WorldShip and re-import back into the storefront, etc. We will be posting more details shortly on the forums here, and on our site.

Overview

T-HUB fully and securely integrates with AspDotNetStorefront store databases. The software enables you to import sales from online stores into QuickBooks. It saves you hours of data entry time and eliminates manual errors. With a simple, one-time setup, T-HUB will automatically download your orders from your online store and create invoices, sales receipts, sales orders or estimates in QuickBooks. It lets you control how new customers and items are handled in QuickBooks. You can even choose how you handle the taxes, shipping charges and other fees in T-HUB. All this is done in a secure way, so you can rest assured that your financial transactions stay safe.

One-click posting to QB
T-HUB creates a store profile as you configure the QuickBooks integration. After this one-time setup, you can post orders to QuickBooks by simply clicking a button.

Download orders from multiple stores
Got multiple store fronts? Include all of them when you configure T-HUB. When you're ready to post, T-HUB will download orders from all your stores which you can preview on a single screen.

Handle back orders
As you preview orders for posting, you can mark items on back-order. T-HUB will hold back-orders and you can post them at a later date.

One-click to view posted order in QuickBooks
Select any order in T-HUB and view the posted transaction in QuickBooks from within T-HUB. You need not go into QuickBooks to search for the order.

Order filter
Order tracking is made easy in T-HUB through a comprehensive data filter. Filter orders by date, customer name, shipping status or payment method.

Print order pick list for fulfillment
Use the pick list from T-HUB which shows individual items for each order to help you assemble and package the order.

Create customers and items in QB
T-HUB will automatically create new customers and items in QuickBooks from the downloaded orders. If you have added new items to your storefront, they will be updated in QuickBooks.

Choice of transaction in QuickBooks
Orders can be posted into QuickBooks as sales receipt, invoice, sales order, estimate.

Flexibility in handling fee, tax and shipping charges
You can choose to include fee as a discount line item or post a journal entry in QuickBooks. T-HUB can show shipping charges as a line item. Taxes can be applied based on shipping state or you can let QuickBooks calculate as per the sales tax setup or they may be already applied on the website.

Assign class for orders
T-HUB can assign a class for orders. You may assign a class based on the web store which originates the order.

Real-time link to your orders
If your transaction volume is high and you are sending out shipments throughout the day, you will want to post orders to QuickBooks as and when they are fulfilled. T-HUB will get order notification automatically as soon as it is received in your store. You can use T-HUB to download and post orders throughout the day. No file to download or order numbers to remember.
