We will need FTP details to your current live store. Your hosting company will give you those, if you don't already know them.
(If in doubt, we'll help you out!)
Within 'hours' we will email you to let you know that your new store has been 'staged' and is ready for you to see.
How many hours? It will depend very much on the amount of data that we are moving into your new store. If you've been taking 100 orders a day for eight years, and if you sell half a million different products, then it could be more than a full day. There's no knowing, really. But it will almost certainly be quicker than you imagine!
We will give you access to the staging site, for you to look at and assess.
We anticipate that you will look at your new store with interest and begin to notice issues that you wish you could improve upon. (Please remember to look at your new store on devices of different widths - a smartphone, an iPad, a laptop a desktop ...)
The things you are most likely to want to change are:
One of the many great things about the "Push-Button Upgrade" is that you can request re-runs up to five times.
A re-run means that you can change elements (like product names) on your 'old' store, and when the upgrade re-runs it will pick up your changes.
Each re-run will also remind you of the configuration choices you made (for example: the template you chose) and you can change things like the banner image, too.
Once you let us know that you are finished with re-runs, we will move to Step Five.
Although we expect the 'Push Button Upgrade' to take a few days at most, we are happy to extend the service for 30 days. Beyond that time, we will extend a small charge to cover the cost of the staging site (which we will be hosting for you). As part of your 'push button' process, you'll see that it's easy for you to tell us when you're finished.
You will use the staging site to carry out an evaluation of your custom needs. You will have the perfect 'playground' to visualize your new version of storefront and decide what additional functionality you will need to pay developers to carry out.
A: The push-button upgrade moves your data into a clean 'stock' copy of AspDotNetStorefront v10, so no custom code will be moved or altered.
You will witness a new version without any custom code, and compare the out-of-box features against business needs.
If you find that you need to customize v10, then we suggest that you use our listed development companies.
A: If you find that v10 gives you everything you need, then you have two obvious alternatives. One is to upgrade just as you 'normally would' - perhaps with the help of a developer? The other is to use our "Push Button Upgrade - Go Live" package which will leave you live and hosted in the AspDotNetStorefront data center.
A: No! It will be dressed in a new 'responsive' (mobile-friendly) design that you will be able to influence through a 'configuration wizard'. Your own images, logo, products etc will all be in place, but it will look different. Sometimes when we move stores to the new responsive designs, store-owners say "oh, I'd only expected it to change on mobile devices ..." so it's worth telling you that there will be a new look in place on devices of all sizes. You are going to love the new look, but more importantly - shoppers will be able to shop more easily on your store, no matter what size their screen is!
A: No. This is pretty simple.
A: That depends on you! We've known these Push Button Upgrades be ready in less than half a day ... but a store with tens of thousands of products, and hundreds of thousands of images may take a day or more. Also, remember that you can re-run the upgrade up to FIVE TIMES, and each re-run might take a few hours. The concept, though, is that you will make this easy on yourself, take advantage of the technology, and be complete within a day or two.
A: At the moment, we are not offering any payment plans for this Push Button Upgrade.
A: Your hosting company will almost certainly have provided these to you in the past - if you don't have them at hand, then a quick discussion with your host should make these details readily available for you.
A: We'd be so disappointed if you didn't notice all the improvements.
We would most likely urge you to take a look at your new store across all different sized devices and begin to see why stores look as they do,
these days. It's all about giving the shopper a great experience. However, if you decide that your store needs 'more design' then we can
credit your money against our 'Push Button Upgrade - Plus' - see here.
Just to be clear - here at AspDotNetStorefront we don't offer refunds after we've provided products or services.
If you don't have time to 'push the button', or if you're worried that it'll be more difficult than it seems, then let us do it on your behalf.
It only takes us a few minutes, so we can afford to be generous!
Just let us know, by phone, email, or live-chat that you'd like us to take over and we'll jump up and help.
All we will need is your FTP connection details.
