What is Microsoft .NET Framework?

The Microsoft .NET Framework is a software component which can be added to the Microsoft Windows operating system. It provides a large body of pre-coded solutions to common program requirements, and manages the execution of programs written specifically for the framework. The .NET Framework is a key Microsoft offering, and is intended to be used by most new applications created for the Windows platform.

Where can I get the free download version?

To get the free download, go to www.msdn.com (Microsoft Homepage) and look for .NET Framework version 2.0. or click here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en.

  1. Download and save the dotnetfx.exe setup file in C:\Program Files. It is recommended to save in this directory since this is where ALL programs are being installed and accessed.

 

 

 

  1. Then double-click on the dotnetfx.exe for files to be extracted.

 

 

  1. Check the box for accepting the Terms of the License Agreement.

 

  1. Wait for the components to be completely installed.

 

  1. Click Finish when Setup is complete.
